1. Scope
This policy explains how Stair Calculator handles information when you use the Android app and when you visit the website at staircalculator.snyders.xyz.
2. Information processed by the Android app
The Android app is designed to work locally on your device.
- Dimensions you enter for stair calculations, such as rise, run, turning width, and diameter.
- Calculated results and any friendly names you assign to saved calculations.
- Local app state needed to reopen or reuse recent calculations.
Based on the current codebase, the app does not require account creation, does not connect to a remote calculation backend, and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.
3. How app data is stored
Saved calculation history is stored locally on the device using Android's local application storage. The app's backup and data-transfer rules are configured to exclude that history store from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so the saved calculation history stays on the device unless you manually export or share information yourself.
You can remove saved history from inside the app. Uninstalling the app also removes its locally stored app data from the device in the normal Android way.
4. Website data and server logs
The website is a static site. It does not use sign-in, contact forms, advertising tags, or marketing trackers. It does not use analytics cookies.
Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure may process limited technical request data to deliver the site securely and keep the service running. This can include IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and basic response metadata in server or reverse-proxy logs. That information is used for availability, abuse prevention, debugging, and security.
5. Support email
If you contact the publisher by email, the information you send, such as your email address, message content, and any attachments, will be used only to respond to your request and to manage follow-up related to that support conversation.
6. Third parties
The current Android app does not transmit calculation history to third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud-sync providers.
The website and email communications rely on normal infrastructure providers to host the site, route traffic, and secure HTTPS connections. Those providers may process the technical data needed to operate their services, but they do not receive your saved stair calculation history from the app.
7. Children's privacy
Stair Calculator is not specifically directed to children under 13. The app is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through an account system or remote profile database.
8. Your choices and rights
- Use the app without creating an account.
- Clear saved calculation history inside the app.
- Uninstall the app to remove its locally stored data.
- Contact the publisher to ask privacy-related questions about the website or support email handling.
9. Data retention
App history remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Website access logs and support emails are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for operations, security, troubleshooting, and communication.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes to the app's data practices should also be reflected in the app's store listing and related disclosures when applicable.
